The exhibition JOURNEY TO ITALY XXI - The gaze on the other is a discussion of the theme of travel in the 21st century through the works of eight artists living and working between Italy and Germany. Since Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Journey to Italy, the nature and meaning of travel have radically changed.
Invited to answer the question: how do you relate to the other? the artists tell their stories and address the theme of travel through different points of view that, in their arrangement, take the form of stages in a dialogue. In the form of photography, video, painting and installation, they approach current social issues, such as migration, the memory of fascism or cultural appropriation.
